Someone Is Using Official Letters To Bypass Auction Procedures; Nelson Calls On Mahama and Debrah

The Ghana Auctioneers Association has raised an alarm over what it describes as a deliberate attempt by certain individuals to use alleged official letters to interfere with legitimate auction processes in the country.

The Association is calling on President John Dramani Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, and the Interior Ministry to step in and investigate the matter without delay.

According to Nelson, the affected members have been subjected to undue pressure, with some facing interference at the point of executing their contracts. He stressed that this goes beyond a business dispute — it is an issue of governance and accountability that requires attention at the highest level.

The Association is not asking for favors. They are asking for a fair and transparent investigation into who is behind these letters, where they are coming from, and what authority, if any, backs them.

If left unaddressed, this kind of interference risks undermining trust in legally binding processes and creates room for powerful individuals to manipulate systems that are meant to operate on merit and due process.

The call on President Mahama and Julius Debrah is clear — look into this, identify those responsible, and ensure that auctioneers can carry out their legally awarded contracts without fear or obstruction.

The rule of law must apply to everyone, including those who appear to wield influence.
