Kwasi Kwarteng, spokesperson for the campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has described his candidate as the only aspirant with a clear and consistent message ahead of the party’s primaries on January 31.
Speaking on JoyNews Desk on Thursday, just 78 hours before the election, Mr. Kwarteng said that among the five contenders, only Agyapong has presented a coherent vision to party delegates.
“So far, we are the only team that has demonstrated that we have a message that we are selling to the delegates.
Kennedy Agyapong has been consistent and very clear: give me the vote, and I will give you power. That has always been his message,” he stated.
He added that Agyapong’s campaign goes beyond empowerment, extending to a broader national agenda focused on job creation.
“Beyond power, he has a national promise: jobs. That is the message he is taking to the delegates,” Mr. Kwarteng said.
The spokesperson also claimed that other aspirants, including former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, have not communicated their priorities with the same clarity.
“No other aspirant has been able to put their message forward like that. Dr. Bawumia is our closest contender, but if I asked you what his message is, it would be difficult to tell,” he added.
Kwarteng argued that Agyapong’s focus and consistency set him apart and make his campaign resonate strongly with delegates nationwide.
About 211,849 NPP delegates are expected to vote at 333 polling centres across the country on Sunday, January 31, to elect the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general election.
