Veteran Ghanaian academic and politician Kojo Anyidoho has strongly criticized legal practitioner Kwakye Ofosu, accusing him of making remarks that undermine the intelligence of the Ghanaian public.

The criticism followed comments by Ofosu concerning political accountability and governance, which Anyidoho believes misrepresent key national issues and show a lack of respect for the public’s ability to analyze matters critically.

Speaking during a recent media engagement, Anyidoho cautioned public figures to be more responsible with their words, especially when addressing sensitive issues that affect national discourse.

According to him, individuals who hold influential positions in politics and law must ensure that their statements are accurate and grounded in facts.

He warned that attempts to twist narratives or present misleading information could erode public trust and create unnecessary confusion among citizens.

Anyidoho stressed that the Ghanaian population is increasingly informed and capable of evaluating political statements independently.

He argued that citizens should not be treated as if they cannot think for themselves or question what they are told.

“Don’t insult the intelligence of the country,” he stated firmly, emphasizing that honesty and transparency must remain central to all public conversations about governance.

The remarks highlight the ongoing tensions within Ghana’s political and legal landscape, where discussions surrounding government policies, accountability, and national development frequently spark heated debate.

Anyidoho noted that figures such as Ofosu have a responsibility to promote constructive dialogue rather than fueling controversy through statements that could be perceived as politically motivated.

He further observed that Ghanaians are becoming more engaged in governance matters, asking tougher questions about public spending, policy decisions, and the overall performance of leaders.

According to him, this growing awareness should encourage greater responsibility from commentators and public officials alike.

The exchange between the two figures has generated significant discussion online, with many Ghanaians calling for greater integrity, respect, and accountability in public commentary and national political discourse.
