“Don’t Google Me—My CV Will Shock You: I’m Serving Ghana While Suing the Same Government” — Oliver Barker-Vormawor Speaks on Activism and Duty

Ghanaian legal practitioner and civic advocate Oliver Barker-Vormawor has stirred fresh conversation online after sharing a bold and reflective message about the balance between professional service and holding power accountable.

In a Facebook post dated March 25, 2026, Barker-Vormawor pushed back against what he suggests are misconceptions about his career and public persona.

“Don’t Google me—my CV will shock you,” he remarked, hinting that his professional achievements go far beyond what many people associate with his activism.

According to him, a deeper look into his legal background would reveal a track record of significant contributions, underscoring that his role in national development is not limited to public commentary or protests.

Instead, he positions himself as both a professional actively serving Ghana and a citizen unafraid to challenge authority.

Barker-Vormawor emphasized that patriotism should not be narrowly defined as loyalty or silence. In his view, true national service includes the courage to question leadership and demand accountability where necessary. 

He argued that contributing expertise to national causes and pursuing legal action against the state are not contradictory, but rather complementary responsibilities.

In a striking revelation, he disclosed that he is currently working on what he described as a landmark resolution, while also preparing to initiate new legal proceedings against the Government of Ghana and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

These actions, he explained, align with his long-standing approach of combining legal practice with civic advocacy.

Reflecting on his past, Barker-Vormawor noted that his legal challenges have not been limited to the ruling government. 

He revealed that he has also filed lawsuits against the opposition National Democratic Congress on three separate occasions. 

These efforts, he added, were undertaken even as he contributed to initiatives linked to the reparations agenda, demonstrating what he describes as a consistent commitment to fairness and justice.

His remarks have resonated with many observers, highlighting the evolving role of civic actors in Ghana’s democracy.
