National security operatives have reportedly carried out coordinated visits to the residences of Gertrude Torkornoo, the Chief Justice of Ghana, and former communications minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful following issues said to be linked to a report from the Ghana Audit Service.

According to emerging information, security personnel believed to be attached to national security agencies arrived at the homes of the two senior public figures as part of what sources describe as an official action connected to findings contained in the Auditor-General’s report.

The reported development has quickly attracted widespread public attention because of the high-profile positions previously and currently held by the individuals involved.

Sources familiar with the situation indicate that the visits formed part of an investigative exercise aimed at examining matters raised in the audit report concerning the management of public resources and administrative processes.

The precise details of the investigation have not yet been fully disclosed by authorities.

Gertrude Torkornoo currently serves as the head of Ghana’s judiciary and occupies the highest judicial office in the country.

Any development involving the Chief Justice often generates significant national interest because of the role the office plays in overseeing the justice system and safeguarding the rule of law.

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, who previously served as Minister for Communications and Digitalisation and as Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, is also a prominent figure in Ghana’s political landscape.

Reports that national security officers visited her residence have therefore sparked debate across political and legal circles.

The Ghana Audit Service periodically releases reports examining how public funds and resources are managed by government institutions and public officials.

These reports sometimes uncover irregularities or raise questions that lead to further investigations by state agencies tasked with ensuring accountability.

Although the reported operation has generated intense discussion, authorities have not yet issued an official statement explaining the exact reason for the visits or confirming the scope of the investigation.

Observers say such operations may involve the collection of documents, verification of information, or other investigative procedures related to matters identified in audit reviews.

Legal experts and political analysts have urged calm while awaiting official clarification, noting that investigations involving senior state officials must follow due process and transparency to maintain public confidence in national institutions.

At the time of filing this report, representatives of both Gertrude Torkornoo and Ursula Owusu-Ekuful had not publicly responded to the reports. National security authorities are also yet to provide detailed confirmation or explanation regarding the operation.

The situation remains a developing story, and more information is expected to emerge as authorities provide updates on the reported investigation connected to the Auditor-General’s findings.
