Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has openly criticized the New Patriotic Party, expressing worry that the party is gradually losing touch with the principles on which it was founded.

At the NPP National Delegates Conference at the University of Ghana Stadium, he urged party members to reassess their direction and reconnect with the values that once defined the organization.

He stated that the party was originally grounded in sacrifice, selflessness, and commitment to national service, but lamented that these values have significantly diminished over the years.

His comments were met with a combination of applause and reflective silence.

He also pointed out that some members now appear to prioritize personal gain over the party’s original mission of serving the public good.

According to him, this moment is especially important as the party continues internal discussions on reforms, leadership structure, and how candidates are chosen.

He emphasized that returning to the party’s founding ideals is necessary to restore credibility, strengthen unity, and maintain public confidence.

He concluded with a passionate appeal for members to embrace sacrifice, selflessness, and service once again.

The conference theme, “Rebuilding Together with our Values,” has encouraged renewed reflection among members as the party works toward redefining its future path.
