New information has emerged about the shocking murder of a patient at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, raising serious concerns about security at the hospital.

According to police, the main suspect, Samuel Tetteh, was caught on CCTV cleaning blood-stained clothes and a knife believed to have been used in the killing.

Samuel Tetteh had been under hospital care but was previously linked to another serious crime earlier this year, police say. Despite this, he was still allowed to stay in the hospital.

The victim, 34-year-old Emmanuel Boateng, was admitted to Korle-Bu for treatment and was expected to recover.

However, his family was shocked when they learned he had been murdered inside the hospital.

Emmanuel’s mother, Mrs. Grace Boateng, is demanding answers from hospital officials. She questioned why the hospital allowed a dangerous suspect to move freely near patients.

Mrs. Boateng said she was told her son was improving and would soon be discharged. But after trying to call him on the day of his death, she got no answer. Later, she was informed that he had died.

Hospital cleaners discovered blood stains under the suspect’s bed and reported it to hospital management. This led to an investigation and the arrest of Samuel Tetteh.

The police confirm that Tetteh was kept at the hospital based on earlier advice from the authorities.

Mrs. Boateng criticized the hospital’s security, saying it was unacceptable for a suspected criminal to live among patients and staff.

Korle-Bu hospital management has yet to comment fully on the incident, while the police continue their investigation.

As the family waits for a postmortem report, calls are growing for better safety measures at hospitals to protect patients and staff.
