Activist and lawyer Osagyefo Oliver Barker-Vormawor has taken a firm public stance against Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin over his comments directed at the presiding judge in the Abronye DC case, declaring in a straight-to-the-point Facebook post that the Minority Leader "crossed the line."

The post, though brief, was bold and direct. Barker-Vormawor did not mince words or offer lengthy explanations. He simply put his position on record for the public to see, and Ghanaians responded in large numbers.

The reaction that followed Barker-Vormawor's post was significant. Many Ghanaians agreed with his assessment, expressing concern that Afenyo-Markin's remarks about the judge handling an active court case were inappropriate for someone in his position.

For many, a Minority Leader in Parliament is expected to show greater respect for judicial independence, and his comments were seen as a direct attack on that principle.

Several social media users questioned Afenyo-Markin's temperament and whether his conduct was befitting of a senior legislator.

Others raised the issue of consistency, wondering whether the same standards applied to others would now be applied to him. Some called on the Ghana Police Service to respond appropriately to the situation.

There were also those who noted that Afenyo-Markin is capable of better, pointing out that he commands more respect when he operates with restraint and discipline.

Barker-Vormawor's post effectively gave voice to a broader public frustration. It was simple, direct and resonated with many Ghanaians who felt that holding powerful figures accountable starts with calling out unacceptable behaviour clearly and without hesitation — which is exactly what he did.
