GhanaWeb has reported on a display of unity and mutual respect which was witnessed in Sunyani by Ghanaians.

This was when Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), briefly interacted with the former Vice President and 2028 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during a major church event.

The moment, captured in a video shared on social media by We Love Ghana on May 2, 2026, showed the two political figures exchanging pleasantries, an interaction that drew applause from the audience.

The meeting occurred during the 40th anniversary celebration of the Mid-West Ghana Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Bono Region.

The conference, which coordinates the church’s activities in the area, commemorated four decades of growth, service, and spiritual development.

Although its origins date back to 1894, the organisation has undergone several structural changes over the years to strengthen its operations, including significant reorganisations in 1986 and 2015.

It currently oversees more than 19,000 members across about 120 congregations within the Bono Region.
