Veteran journalist Kwesi Pratt Jnr has alleged that there is a coordinated attempt to push him out of Metro TV’s flagship morning show, Good Morning Ghana, amid claims of political pressure from some communicators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, certain individuals are allegedly working behind the scenes to have him labelled as a representative of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on the programme, a move he believes is aimed at undermining his credibility and influence as a panellist.

Kwesi Pratt, known for his outspoken political commentary, suggested that the situation reflects growing intolerance for divergent opinions in media and public discourse.

He maintained that efforts to “tag” him politically are part of a broader strategy to discredit his contributions on the show.

The veteran journalist has been a long-standing voice on Good Morning Ghana, where he frequently engages in heated debates on national issues, often taking independent or critical positions on matters affecting governance.

His comments have since sparked debate among media observers and political commentators, with some expressing concern about potential interference in media independence, while others argue that media personalities should be clearly identified in terms of political alignment for transparency.

Metro TV has not publicly responded to the allegations, and there has been no official confirmation of any move to remove or reassign him from the programme.

The development adds to ongoing conversations about press freedom, political influence in media spaces, and the growing tensions between journalism and partisan politics in Ghana.
