Tonto Dikeh described living for many years with what she called an overwhelming and destructive anger.
She said the emotion controlled her actions, damaged relationships, and left her emotionally exhausted.
“There was a kind of anger inside me that I could not explain,” she shared. “It consumed me and pushed me to the edge. I would feel so enraged that I wanted everyone around me to feel it too.”
She explained that the anger affected every part of her life and almost destroyed her sense of self. Despite fame, success, and public admiration, she said she felt broken inside.
Beyond anger, the actress also revealed that she had struggled with smoking addiction from a very young age. According to her, she started smoking as a teenager and remained dependent on it for nearly three decades.
“For 27 years, smoking had a strong hold on me,” she said. “I didn’t realize how deeply trapped I was until I began to seek God seriously.”
Tonto Dikeh explained that her addiction was only one part of a broader struggle that included habits she was ashamed to speak about publicly. She admitted that these challenges caused her to withdraw from social life and isolate herself.
“There were times I would drink alone at home until I passed out,” she revealed. “I avoided going out because I didn’t want people to see the state I was in.”
She said shame and fear kept her silent for years, even as the habits continued to control her life behind closed doors.
According to the actress, everything began to change after she attended a prayer gathering organized by the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) in Ghana. She described the experience as life-changing and deeply spiritual.
“For the first time in my life, I felt true peace,” she said. “It was real, and it stayed.”
Tonto Dikeh also shared that she made a firm decision to fully surrender her life to Christ following the event. She said this decision helped her break free from habits and struggles that had followed her since childhood.
She explained that her healing went beyond physical habits and touched areas that affected her even in her dreams. According to her, the fear, weakness, and shame she once carried no longer had control over her.
“I feel free now,” she said. “What once had power over me has been broken.”
The actress added that her confidence today is rooted in faith rather than public validation. She believes the transformation she has experienced is permanent and not just an emotional moment.
Since sharing her testimony, many fans and followers have praised her honesty and courage. Social media reactions show that her story has inspired conversations about addiction, mental health, faith, and healing.
