Member of Parliament for Yendi, Abdul Fatawu Alhassan Jofa, has claimed that several development projects which the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) planned to complete within three to four years have already been achieved by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) within just a year in office.
Speaking during a political discussion on development performance, the Yendi MP argued that the current administration has demonstrated a stronger sense of urgency in delivering projects and policies that directly impact the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.
According to him, the NDC government has taken decisive steps to accelerate key infrastructure and social development initiatives across the country.
He noted that several projects that had either stalled or were scheduled for long-term completion under the previous NPP administration have been fast-tracked under the new government.
“Some of the projects you planned to complete in three or four years have been achieved by the NDC in just one year,” Jofa said, adding that the progress reflects the party’s commitment to fulfilling its campaign promises.
The legislator further stressed that the speed at which the NDC government is implementing policies shows a deliberate effort to address pressing national challenges, including infrastructure gaps, job creation, and economic recovery.
Jofa also urged critics to objectively assess the government’s performance rather than rely on partisan narratives.
He maintained that the results seen within the first year of the NDC administration demonstrate effective leadership and a clear development agenda.
He added that while governance is a continuous process that requires patience and cooperation from all stakeholders, the early achievements of the current administration prove that meaningful progress can be made within a short period when there is political will.
The MP expressed optimism that if the current pace of development is sustained, the country will witness even greater transformation in the coming years.
