Businessman Butchers Mother For Blocking His Marriage in Oti Region Over Witchcraft Allegations

A businessman is alleged to have killed his own mother, accusing her of using witchcraft to block his plans for marriage.

The community is in shock and mourning as details emerge about this disturbing case of family violence.

According to local sources, the suspect, a young man in his early thirties, had recently been in conflict with his mother over his intention to marry.

Neighbors reported that the businessman believed his mother was preventing him from marrying his chosen partner by using witchcraft.

This belief reportedly led to intense arguments between them, with the man frequently accusing his mother of sabotaging his happiness and future.

One neighbor recounted overhearing a heated conversation between the two just days before the tragedy.

“I heard him saying, ‘You don’t want me to be happy! You’re using dark powers to keep me from marrying her. Why won’t you let me be?’ 

His mother tried to calm him down, denying the accusations, but he didn’t seem convinced,” shared a local resident.

On the day of the incident, the suspect allegedly confronted his mother in their family home, where another argument escalated into violence.

Eyewitnesses said they heard loud shouting before realizing that the situation had taken a deadly turn. According to the police, the young man attacked his mother with a machete in a fit of rage, leaving her with fatal injuries.

Authorities arrived on the scene shortly after being alerted by concerned neighbors. 

“When we arrived, it was a shocking sight,” said one of the police officers. 

“We could see that emotions had run high, and it appeared to be a deeply rooted family conflict that tragically escalated.”

The suspect was apprehended at the scene without resistance and is now in police custody.

He faces serious charges, and the police have launched a thorough investigation into the events that led to this tragedy.
