Former Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has declared that he is the most prepared and winnable candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections.

Dr. Bawumia made this statement during his tour of the Ashanti Region.

His visit focused on engaging constituency executives and grassroots supporters, with the aim of strengthening the party’s unity and reigniting its spirit.

According to him, no other aspirant within the party has the level of preparation and political experience he brings to the table.

He emphasized that his leadership would give the NPP the best chance of reclaiming power in the next elections.

Sharing highlights of his engagements on social media after the second day of his tour, Dr. Bawumia said:

“Day two of my zonal constituency executives meeting in the Ashanti Region provided an opportunity to reconnect with our grassroots base. I shared my vision for the NPP and for Ghana, and I underscored why I am the most prepared, formidable, and winnable candidate for the 2028 elections.”

He called on party faithful to rally behind him, urging unity and teamwork as the NPP prepares for its upcoming internal contest.

“Let us all join hands and win together. #WinWithBawumia #Bawumia2028,” he stated.

The NPP has scheduled its presidential primaries for January 31, 2026, almost three years ahead of the general elections.

Party leaders explained that the early congress is meant to ease tensions within the party and allow enough time to prepare for a strong comeback in 2028.

Dr. Bawumia, who served as the NPP’s 2024 presidential candidate, insists that the party must stay focused on issues that resonate with the people, such as economic recovery, job creation, and education.

He assured his supporters that he has learned from past challenges and is ready to chart a new course that will restore hope to Ghanaians.

The former Vice President’s declaration has already sparked discussions among political analysts and party members.
