A video circulating widely on social media has triggered renewed debate over access to public healthcare in South Africa after a group of individuals was seen confronting foreign nationals inside a hospital and demanding that they leave.

The footage shows a young man addressing patients and healthcare workers in what appears to be a public medical facility.

In the video, he insists that only South African citizens should remain in the hospital, stating that foreign nationals should leave after receiving initial medical attention.

He is heard instructing non-citizens to vacate the premises and further directs hospital staff to limit treatment for foreign patients to emergency stabilisation.

According to his remarks, continued care should be sought elsewhere, particularly in private facilities.

The video does not provide full context regarding the location of the hospital or the events leading up to the confrontation. Despite this, it has rapidly gained attention online, drawing strong reactions from different groups.

Many social media users have condemned the incident, raising concerns about the treatment of foreign nationals and the potential violation of human rights.

Others have questioned whether the views expressed in the video align with existing laws governing healthcare access.

In South Africa, healthcare policy is guided by constitutional provisions that generally guarantee access to emergency medical treatment for all individuals, regardless of nationality.

This has led to further scrutiny of the claims made in the footage and the actions of those involved.

At the same time, some observers note that the situation reflects broader social tensions, including concerns about migration and pressure on public services.

These issues have periodically surfaced in public discourse and remain sensitive within parts of society.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement confirming the incident or indicating whether any investigation is underway.
