Michael’s father, Mr. Joseph Owusu, said they last saw his son on June 27, 2025, at their home in the Madina area. The boy had just finished lunch and went out to play with friends but did not come back home.
The family started searching immediately when Michael did not return that day. They reported his disappearance to the Madina Police Station and looked everywhere in the neighborhood and nearby areas but could not find him.
The message said Michael was found injured in a nearby community and was taken to Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital after first being treated at a small clinic.
When Mr. Owusu went to Korle-Bu Hospital, staff told him no patient by the name Michael Owusu had been admitted. They showed him a list of patients admitted under unknown names.
He noticed one record of a teenage boy brought in on July 1 in critical condition with a head injury. The notes said the boy was helped by strangers and taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Sadly, the boy died on July 6, but the body was recorded as "unknown." When Mr. Owusu visited the mortuary, he identified the body as his son by a unique birthmark on his hand.
Mr. Owusu said the mortuary staff told him the body had been there for two weeks without any family claim.
The family is now grieving deeply and has asked police to investigate Michael’s mysterious death.
