The incident, which has attracted wide attention on social media, happened at her residence in Accra.
According to close friends, the doctor, whose name has been withheld for security reasons, had been in a troubled relationship for several months.
She had complained to colleagues about constant disagreements with her partner but never thought it could turn violent.
On the day of the attack, neighbours said they heard loud arguments from her apartment but did not imagine the situation was dangerous.
One neighbour explained that after some minutes of silence, they assumed the issue had been resolved. Unfortunately, the doctor had blacked out following a violent assault.
She reportedly regained consciousness two days later, lying in a pool of blood on her bedroom floor. Weak and confused, she struggled to reach her phone and call for help.
Friends rushed her to the hospital, where she received urgent medical treatment.
Medical reports confirmed that she had suffered head injuries and severe blood loss. Doctors at the facility described her survival as “a miracle” because the delay in treatment could have been fatal.
When she was finally strong enough to speak, the young doctor revealed that it was her partner who attacked her during an argument.
According to her, the man lost his temper and hit her repeatedly until she collapsed. He then left her unconscious without calling for help.
The case has since been reported to the police, who have launched investigations into the incident. Gender activists have condemned the attack and called for stronger action against domestic violence in Ghana.
Social media users have also expressed anger, with many urging women and men in abusive relationships to seek help early.
Others have advised the government to speed up the establishment of safe shelters for survivors of domestic violence.
