Director of Communications for the United Party, Solomon Owusu, has triggered a wave of controversy after making a highly charged political statement linking former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to LGBTQ-related remarks.

In a comment that has quickly spread across political and social media circles, Owusu claimed that whenever he sees the two senior New Patriotic Party (NPP) figures, he associates them with LGBTQ discussions — a statement that has drawn strong reactions and renewed debate over political rhetoric in Ghana.
