Controversial media personality Captain Smart is once again at the center of public discussion, with a sharp social media comment questioning his recent political trajectory. The remark, which has gone viral, suggests that his “brain is gradually coming back home.”

But the same comment quickly pivots to a more biting question: Is it that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is leaving him behind? The implication is clear – Captain Smart may no longer be as aligned with the party as he once was.

The statement, laced with sarcasm, also takes a direct jab at the broadcaster’s name, arguing that he is “not as smart as his name suggests.”

This public critique points to a growing perception that Captain Smart has been inconsistent in his political loyalties and commentary.

Once a fiery critic of the current administration and a darling of the NDC’s grassroots, he now appears to be losing relevance within the party’s inner circles. His recent, more measured tone on air has not gone unnoticed.

Political analysts following the space suggest that Captain Smart may be attempting to rebrand or avoid the legal and political heat that came with his earlier confrontational style. However, the accusation that the NDC is “leaving him behind” hints at a possible falling out.

Sources within the party have reportedly expressed frustration with his unpredictability. If true, this would mark a dramatic shift for a man who once commanded huge audiences with his unapologetic pro-NDC rants.

For now, Captain Smart has not publicly responded to the latest jab. But the court of public opinion appears split: some believe he is genuinely mellowing and thinking more clearly, while others argue he has been sidelined by the very political establishment he once championed.

Whether his brain is truly “coming back home” or the NDC has simply moved on, one thing is certain – Captain Smart remains a fascinating figure in Ghana’s media and political landscape.
