Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has reportedly demanded that the online platform ghanacelebrity.com retract a publication he considers false and damaging to his reputation and issue a public apology.
According to reports by 3NewsGH, the dispute followed an article allegedly published by the website claiming that Duncan-Williams’ son had made revelations about his father during a private discussion involving pastors and the presidential ambitions of Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.
The report subsequently spread across social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X, generating widespread discussion and varied reactions among Ghanaians.
Duncan-Williams and his legal representatives have rejected the claims, describing the publication as fabricated and without any factual foundation.
They reportedly characterized the story as “entirely false and contrived,” arguing that it could mislead the public and cause significant damage to the Archbishop’s reputation.
His lawyers have therefore asked the platform to withdraw the publication and issue a formal public apology to address what they regard as the harm caused by the allegations.
Reports indicate that Duncan-Williams and his legal team are also considering legal action should the website fail to comply with the demand for a retraction and apology.
The dispute has continued to generate attention online, with supporters of the Archbishop defending him while others discuss the allegations and the responsibility of digital media outlets when reporting on sensitive religious and political matters.
