Lady Flies Back Home With Nothing after 3 Years Abroad, Says She Feel Like She Failed Her Parents

A 28-year-old Ghanaian woman has opened up about her painful experience of returning home from abroad with nothing to show after three years.

Her story, shared on social media, has touched many young people who say they understand the struggle of chasing dreams outside the country.

According to the young woman, who asked not to reveal her name, she left Ghana three years ago with high hopes of finding a better life overseas.

She believed that with hard work, she would be able to build a future, support her parents, and come back with enough savings to start a business.

However, things did not go as planned. In a short video she posted online, she explained how she struggled with unstable jobs, high rent, and constant bills. By the time she decided to return to Accra this year, she had no savings and no property.

“I feel like I have failed my parents,” she said in her voice-over.

“I left with so many dreams, but I came back empty-handed. It feels like everyone I know is ahead of me. My mates are married with children, while I am back at square one.”

She admitted that starting all over again has been very depressing. She has no stable job and feels left behind, but she insisted she will not give up.

Instead, she encouraged others who may be going through similar struggles. “Life is not a competition,” she added.

“We all move at different paces. I believe my time will come, and everything will make sense one day.”

Her video quickly went viral, attracting hundreds of comments. Many Ghanaians encouraged her to stay strong, reminding her that she is not a failure for returning home. Some users shared their own experiences of leaving Ghana, working abroad, and coming back with very little.

One person wrote: “I also returned from Dubai with less than I expected. It was hard, but with the help of family, I rebuilt my life. Do not see yourself as a failure, see it as a lesson.”
