Speaking at a gathering of party supporters in Accra, Bawumia said the people of Ghana are tired of noise and now demand honest leadership and visible progress.
"Ghanaians don’t want noise. They want results. So, serve them with honesty," Bawumia said in a calm but firm tone.
The 2024 NPP presidential candidate, who lost to Mahama in the December elections, broke his silence after several months of staying away from political commentary.
His message was clear: the people voted with hope, and it is now up to Mahama to deliver.
He said the focus now should be on holding the new government accountable and preparing for the future.
"We accept the will of the people. But we must also be the voice that speaks when things are not going right. Ghana must always come first," he stated.
He warned the current administration against making excuses or blaming the past government for every challenge.
"You asked for the job. Now do it. Don’t spend the next four years pointing fingers. Fix the economy, create jobs, reduce hardship. That’s what Ghanaians want," he added.
Bawumia also said he was proud of the work done under President Akufo-Addo’s leadership, highlighting achievements in education, digitalization, and infrastructure.
However, he stressed that every government has a responsibility to move the country forward, not backward.
"We left a foundation. What you build on it is what Ghanaians will judge you by," he told the Mahama-led administration.
Dr. Bawumia’s comments come at a time when the new government is under pressure to deliver on its campaign promises, particularly in the areas of youth employment and cost of living.
His message was not just a warning to the NDC but also a signal to Ghanaians that he remains committed to public service and will continue to speak up for truth, progress, and national unity.
"We love Ghana. Let us all work to make it better – with truth, humility, and action," he concluded.
